- There is a certain amount of irreducible uncertainty in the future.
- If we map possible future strategic landscapes then we can better predict what can be predicted and better understand our strategic choices
- For areas where the general shape of a change seems to be understood but the timing is uncertain we can create decision points and alter the timing depending on how the signposts of change alter over time.
